Molly's Low-Water Gardening Miracles

Here in Baja it hasn't rained since February. We need to use precious household water to keep our garden alive, whereas just 50 miles north of here in Encinitas, Molly McInery does wonders with her semi-arid plant varieties. If fire hits the area, she's in luck: concrete house and burn resistant plants, as opposed to stick-built new houses with the wrong variety of plants sucking the water tables dry. Photos by one of my sisters , taken when she was actually living there, an exchange nurse working in Escondido for a few months. Thanks Yvette.

She must be doing SOME watering as I recognize a few thirsty flowers in there. Very lovely garden indeed, also thanks to the California sun absent in Cincinnati this year. Ant the year before.

I detect a trace of jealousy in your tone, Eric. Bad Monkey! But then you can always move to South California as there are plenty of houses for sale with the mortgage crunch!
