The General - Buster Keaton
There is a minute of the movie missing in the beginning: Buster wants to enlist for the South but they will not take him, thinking that a railroad engineer is more useful for the troops as...a railroad engineer. His girlfriend thinks he is chickening out of the war. It takes Buster a full hour to regain honor and glory. Greatest movie...and all true...no special effects or stunt doubles.

Once I owned The General on Super 8 film. 5 Reels. I'd match the film to ragtime, cue the tapes, and set the family in front of the screen for laughs. Most of the laughs came while changing reels and re-threading the projector, but that's very Keaton too.
A true classic.
